I have a simple solution. Just don't push so hard and it won't come flying out like a rocket. Hopefully your objective is not to destroy the toilet, but just do your business and sneak out of there, while others are left smelling the wonderful aroma you just freshened the bathroom with. Also I've learned that if you do it too slow then the waters will be still and still water + log = splash. If you can, disturb the waters first. There are plenty of different ways to accomplish this goal. If you're out of ammo, be sure to have a stick nearby to help.
